A Discovery of Witches
I absolutely love to read!
Most of the storage on my kindle is filled with romance novels because I am slightly addicted to all things romance. I'm a sucker for books with happy endings.
Since I am in graduate school, I often feel guilty when I have the time to sit down and read a good book. I try not to spend too much time reading about romance when I should be catching up on my assigned school readings.
What I have learned is that reading a good book is part of my self-care and that reading of course is good for the mind!
A friend of mine suggested reading A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. I was a little hesitant at first because of the title. Witches? I'll admit it, I tend to judge books by their titles and covers so I wouldn't normally pick this type of book but it had so many good reviews on Amazon. My friend raved about it and that night I purchased the book. A week later I was sucked in and couldn't put the book down.
Here is a little about the book..
It all begins with a spell bound manuscript, brought to Diana Bishop, a powerful Witch who refuses to use her powers. She has managed to ignore all forms of magic until it is forced upon her when she unlocks the spell on the lost manuscript, Ashmole 782.
Ashmole 782 is thought to have the answers Vampires, Daemons, and Witches seek about existence. All creatures will stop at nothing to find Diana and the book. In comes a 1,500 year old vampire who is mysteriously drawn to Diana and the book. The book is filled with romance, mythology, science, slight suspense, and of course magic.
Check it out!
Every time I come across a good book, I rush to finish and when it's over, I want more. The good thing about this book is that it is TRILOGY, (yay!) so I have two more to read! I would definitely give this book a read if I were you, I am sure it will suck you in by the first few pages. It sure did with me. I can't tell you how many nights I was up until 3 am reading. I kept telling myself, just one more page, no wait one more chapter. It was a serious problem haha. The book is that good! Go out and get yourself a copy. You won't be disappointed, I promise! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Any other good book suggestions? Comment below, I'd love another good book!
ps. I don't have a cool picture of the book cover since its on my kindle so I borrowed one online from the publisher. :)
